Trick or treating with the boys has always been one of my favorite memories.
This post, today, is about those shining happy moments when I really feel as if all the stars are aligned properly and I’m just where I’m supposed to be. I get that feeling a lot more often now, and I’m almost starting to get used to it. Almost.

As I stood at my kitchen counter scooping hot cookies off of the baking sheets with a metal spatula, I felt for just a moment like all was right with my world. Then I thought about Newtown, CT.
We’ve been planning this vacation for years, and saving for it since we splurged on the tickets with our tax return money. I cannot wait for Charlie to see the ocean for the first time, and for Sebastian to relax back into childhood for a few more days.

I stood up to find my husband (all six feet four inches of him) rolling around in the grass laughing hysterically. At first I couldn’t tell if he was hurt or not, but everyone was fine. At least I got a chance to play around with the fireworks setting on my digital camera.
